OIPA ETS is pleased to welcome Ali Maklad as its new Representative in Egypt, strengthening the organisation’s presence in the country and its commitment to promoting animal welfare, responsible coexistence and science-based approaches to the protection of animals.
Ali Maklad is an Egyptian journalist and the founder of 4Rogol (Four Legs), one of the largest Arabic-language platforms dedicated to animal welfare awareness, responsible pet ownership, adoption and the humane management of free-roaming dogs and cats.
With a professional background spanning law, journalism, translation and international communication, Ali brings extensive experience in media relations and public engagement.
A long-standing commitment to animal welfare
For several years, Ali has used his journalistic and communication experience to promote animal welfare, public awareness and stronger cooperation between civil society, institutions, veterinarians and experts.
Since 2012, he has developed a particular interest in dog behaviour, training and behavioural modification, completing specialised courses in animal care and behaviour.
Through 4Rogol, he develops digital and educational campaigns on animal welfare and promotes responsible adoption, the One Health approach, humane CNVR programmes and safer coexistence between communities and free-roaming animals.
His work also involves cooperation with veterinarians, shelters, animal welfare organisations, volunteers and specialists, as well as documenting animal welfare concerns and engaging with relevant authorities to encourage humane, sustainable and evidence-based solutions.
Ali has also taken part directly in rescue and assistance activities for free-roaming animals, including initiatives that he has personally supported and funded.
Through his role as OIPA Representative in Egypt, Ali will contribute to raising awareness of animal protection issues in the country, strengthening dialogue with local stakeholders and supporting the development of humane and sustainable approaches to animal welfare.
OIPA warmly welcomes Ali to its international network and looks forward to working together to advance animal protection and responsible coexistence in Egypt.
